Help File: Laptop batteries going unused, upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 7

Q: I use my HP laptop only in my living room, so it's plugged into a wall outlet all the time. So I've removed the battery and put it back into the bubble wrap it shipped in. Is that really the best thing to do? Windows 7 - Windows XP - Operating system - Microsoft Windows - Laptop
